The purpose of this blog is to capture snapshots of my endless pursuit of knowledge, specifically in the realm of all things tech. As my journey progresses, I hope to record my struggles and triumphs as a developer, insights gained while reading technical articles and news stories around the web, and code snippets and links to some of my work.
I’ve been interested in computers for as far back as I can remember. Much of my free time was spent exploring the nooks and crannies of early operating systems, playing floppy disk-based games, and weaving together the tear-off edges of dot-matrix printer paper. I’ve built numerous computers from scratch, including a home server for file backup, to host websites (including this one), and to use as a home theater PC. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Graphic Communications in 2005. In 2008, I started taking additional courses in programming, engineering and math at a number of local community colleges, and in 2010 I began working on a Master’s Degree in Computer Science.
As cliche as it sounds, I find that my thirst for knowledge is unquenchable. I wish I could learn and become an expert in everything! Unfortunately, I am merely a mortal, and am limited by time that must also be spent elsewhere. Besides my tech-based obsessions, I enjoy traveling, camping, hiking, barbequing, and, most recently, working on my new home with my wife. I can only hope that I find the time to update this site frequently and generate an expanding, persistent repository of knowledge.
Onwards!
